It’s essential that you find the best sun cream, sunscreen or sun tan lotion – quite simply, if you find the right one, you will use it, protect your skin, and so avoid the burn and the premature ageing effect!
In fact, protecting your precious skin from the sun is so essential that you should really wear one of the best rates SPF moisturisers every day – yes, even in winter time.
When choosing a good sun cream, you will require a product that protects against UVA and UVB, so look for the SPF and the PA rating – SPF protects against UVB rays and stops your skin from burning, and PA protects against UVB, which is the stuff that penetrates deep into the skin and causes your skin to age prematurely.
The SPF of your selected product needs to be as high as possible, 30 or 50 is ideal. With the PA rating, the higher the number of + after the PA the better ,the highest rating being PA++++.
Confused? To simplify, just think B for Burning and A for Ageing 🙂
Sun creams come in two basic types – mineral (contain ingredients like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide, which reflect the sunlight) and chemical (absorb the UV rays and turn them into heat, which is then expelled from the skin). Chemical sun creams are the most popular due to their thinner consistency, thus making it easier to spread them over the skin.
Green People products are completely natural and chemical free. They’re also vegan and organic. A perfume free product is perfect if you suffer from prickly heat on holiday, because it allows skin to breathe.

But does it work? Well, I recently tested the product during a week’s holiday in sunny Greece and I simply loved it! It absorbs well, feels nice on the skin, not sticky, greasy or strong smelling (it smells lovely BTW), therefore no burning or swollen eyes, and it most certainly did protect my fair skin from burning in the sun. I often suffer from itching and heat rash in the sun, but none of that with this product.
All in all, an excellent sun cream.
